Djrum (pronounced ‘drum’, but also known as Dj Rum) is producer Felix Manuel currently based in London. His music is deep and jazzy influenced with a sprinkle of Techno, dubstep and future garage added to the mix. His first LP Seven Lies was released on April 22, 2013 via 2nd Drop Records and, aside from several EPs before that, it’s the first collection of tunes I heard from him…..loving it!

Djrum – Seven Lies

While being heavily set in the dubstep, future-garage, bass genres, Seven Lies sees Djrum settle on a nice collection of atmospheric breakdowns, folk melodies and the odd film sample here and there, tinges of jazz and the occasional hint of drum ‘n’ bass. Over previous EP releases Djrum has shown a talent for long epic ambient scores, some clocking in at 11 mins! But this is all one production masterclass, mixing many different styles into one cohesive experience.

Picked up by Gilles Peterson, Djrum was invited to curate a mix for the Gilles Peterson Worldwide show. The result being a 30 min long late-night melting pot of dubstep, garage, techno and dub.
